BA of the Week: Dustin Ramacher in Above All

Most of us know Dustin Ramacher as Mr. Reckless… high flying in that green American Dream at events across the country. But Reckless 1.0 has a new home and Dustin has a new truck. Debuting at Michigan Mud Jam just a few weeks ago, Dustin held nothing back in TGW freestyle and is our pick for this week’s coveted title of Bad A$$.

WD: What got you in to the mud biz? How long have you been at it?
Dustin: A friends dad got my into the mud world way back in 1996 and after the first one I was hooked and got my first truck soon after

WD: Why did you decide to sell Reckless and Build the new truck?
Dustin: I was building this new truck to have 2 different trucks before I decided to sell Reckless. I do already have plans in the works for a new and improved RECKLESS truck

WD: Married? Kids? Are they involved?
Dustin: I’m currently single and I have 2 nieces and one nephew that love what I do and love to come a support me ..I hope one day my godson nolan will be the driver of my trucks ..the future of our sport

WD: If you could get behind the wheel of any other truck which would it be? A favorite truck besides your own?

Dustin: One of my favorite trucks out there today would have to be Quikstick. I really have never had a race truck and would like to give it a try ..I think Randy’s Quikstick truck is going to be a top contender in the racing world !

WD: What keeps you in the game?
Dustin: I love to build and drive. It’s part of me .I have been doing it since 1996 and can’t think of a sport I would rather do ..I tell everyone that,

“There is no other feeling in the world like the one I get when I drive my truck.”

WD: Do you have any rituals or habits prior to a race/event day?

Dustin: The only thing I can say I get before a race, freestyle, or anytime I take my truck out is that I still get sick to my stomach or butterflies ..or whatever you want to call it.  I feel if I lose that feeling I should probably stop in the sport but I don’t see that happening.

WD: If you could go anywhere in the world on vacation, where would you go?
Dustin: If I could go anywhere on vacation I would go to Brazil just to try something totally out of my element

WD: What do you think the most important part of a truck is?
Dustin: I think the most important part of this truck is safety. I built it to be in my eyes the safest truck out there!

WD: What is on the Horizon for you/your truck?
Dustin: The future for me is wide open but I do plan and trying to be on top of everything in the race and freestyle world in mud trucks

WD: How did the truck get it’s name?
Dustin: I got the truck name from the air force it’s one of their slogans. I plan putting a wrap on the truck to match a B -52 Bomber plane ..every one of my trucks have had a military theme.

WD: What are the big differences in this truck vs Reckless?
Dustin: The big differences between the 2 are reckless was a front engine truck built to mud bog and above all is a rear engine truck built to jump and freestyle

WD: Do you miss Reckless already? Or are you just ready to build a new name for this truck?
Dustin: I miss Reckless cause I did so much in the truck that I never expected to, especially a backflip. It was a great truck and still lives on with a great friend owning it. People haven’t seen the last of reckless. But yes, I plan on making ABOVE ALL a new name in the mud world.

WD: What is one fun fact we might not know about you, non mud truck related?
Dustin: I’m a new years baby
